We are honored that reputed organizations like Corporation Bank has continued to strengthen its partnership with us. With their continued support, we hope that we will be able to reach out to more hungry children across the country and by 2020 to at least 5 million children across India."
Corporation Bank commenced its partnership with Akshaya Patra in 2009 by sponsoring a mid-day meal distribution vehicle. Speaking on the occasion, Ajai Kumar said, “The Akshaya Patra’s blue bus is a symbol of hope for the thousands of children across the country. The bus signifies that the child will not go hungry and we thought that the best way to be a part of this programme is by donating the mid-day meal vehicle.”
The custom-built vehicle will be an aid in transporting the cooked meals to the schools. It is insulated to maintain optimal temperature, is dust-free and helps to retain the freshness of the meals till served.
The Akshaya Patra Foundation implements World's largest NGO led mid-day meal programme in partnership with the Government of India, and respective State Governments feeding 1.3 million children every school working day in 19 locations across India.
Akshaya Patra wholeheartedly thanks Corporation Bank for their contribution.
